MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2022 Giant-sponsored triathlete Sam Appleton kicked off his 2022 race season on a high note, winning the Ironman 70.3 Geelong for the third time in his career. The Australian topped a talented men’s field including his fellow Giant athlete Tim Van Berkel who also posted a top-five finish. Appleton came out of the water in third position, trailing fellow Australians Josh Amberger and Luke William. Once he hit the bike, Appleton was in a class of his own.
