Liv Racing Xstra rider Alison Jackson took points in intermediate sprints on each of the six stages of the Tour of Scandinavia to secure the green jersey.
On the first stage from Copenhagen to Helsingør in Denmark, Jackson won the second and third intermediate sprints, catapulting her into the lead in the points classification. Wearing the green jersey at the start of stage two in Orust, Jackson took first and second in the two intermediate sprints, giving her a three-point lead in the points classification over general classification leader Marianne Vos. When her lead dropped to just one point after stage three, Jackson and her Liv Racing Xstra teammates kicked things up a notch. By the end of the sixth stage, Jackson had won the classification by 15 points.
“The green jersey was a small goal in the beginning, but got bigger and bigger during the race,” said Jackson. “I had the whole team support to go for this goal. We worked hard every day to get points at the intermediate sprints. I am happy to finish it off. It is nice to be on the podium in the green jersey representing our Liv Racing Xstra team and our sponsors.”
