Tyler Jacobs of Liv Factory Racing opened the South African XCO Cup Series in Cape Town with a double podium, securing a win in the XCC and a second-place finish in the XCO.

Liv Factory Racing athlete Tyler Jacobs delivers a solid performance at the South Africa XCO Cup Series opening round in Cape Town, capturing first place in the XCC Cross-Country Short Track and second in the XCO Cross-Country Olympic.

Leading up to the races, Jacobs felt nervous due to the strong competition but was eager to assess her performance with a well-structured race plan. She shared, "For the first time, I had a proper race plan. It was a great feeling to execute it, knowing when to go hard, when to ease up, and when to recover." This strategy proved effective as she maintained a strong lead, securing the XCC victory on her Pique Advanced 29.

The XCO event presented a thrilling challenge, with Jacobs competing against Alessandra Keller, the 2024 UCI World Cup overall leader. Jacobs finished just 13 seconds behind Keller, earning second place. Reflecting on the experience, she expressed her excitement: "I got to race 2024's UCI World Cup overall leader! It was such a cool opportunity to finish in second place; I'm super stoked about the whole weekend!"

The races were marked by hot and dry conditions, adding to the course's challenges. Jacobs recounted a memorable moment during the race: "On a steep kicker - I was exhausted, hit a stump, and did a slow-motion fall into a bush. I wasn't harmed; it was just funny."

Marking a promising start to her season, Jacobs looks forward to her next competition at the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup in Araxá, Brazil, alongside her Liv Factory Racing teammates.
