The Revolt Advanced and Revolt Advanced Pro leave an impression with testers, who claim the composite machines are "fast, forgiving and fun."

Developed with input from Giant gravel racing pros Cole Paton and Brendan Johnston, the new Revolt range was launched midway through the 2024 race season. Since then, the flagship Revolt Advanced Pro has been ridden to an Australian gravel championship as well as the LifeTime Grand Prix series podium.

Both the Revolt Advanced Pro and Revolt Advanced are built on reengineered framesets that balance race-winning speed and efficiency with Revolt’s characteristic compliance and control. A two-position flip chip located on the rear dropout changes the wheelbase, expanding rear-wheel tire clearance up to 53mm. Both models also feature new innovations including internally routed cables and an easy-access storage compartment inside the down tube to carry tools and other essentials.

Each model also comes with the latest Contact D-Fuse carbon handlebars and D-Fuse seatposts to help smooth out rough tracks, improving control, and minimizing vibration and fatigue over long distances.

In his 4.5-star review—which describes the Advanced Pro 0 as “one of the very best gravel race bikes” in the headline—Bike Radar’s Warren Rossiter writes, “If you’re looking for a rapid, comfortable and versatile gravel bike, the Advanced Pro 0 has it all.”

Rossiter declares that the Revolt “rides brilliantly,” adding that because of the D-Fuse handlebar and seatpost, “The Revolt is in its element on gravel roads and double-track byways. Its light and lively feel flows over light gravel with an enviable pace. When things get more rutted and choppy, the combination of tire volume and superb contact points takes off the harsh edges. Vibrations are minimized, which all adds up to maintaining your speed and composure.”

Colin Levitch echoes this sentiment in his review for Flow Mountain Bike, caling the Revolt Advanced Pro “one of the most comfortable gravel bikes I’ve ever ridden.”

"I would even go as far as saying this bike feels plush — for a completely rigid bike, that is," he continues."This is thanks in large part to the D-Fuse bar and seatpost. Starting at the seating arrangements, Giant says the post allows for up to 12mm of fore and aft flex, and I believe it. As your weight settles on the saddle, you can feel that first bit of flex, and there is almost a floating sensation, but it doesn’t buck when you hit a big square bump as some leaf-spring-based designs like this one do.”

In his video review for The Ride, gear tester Ben Delaney shares his thoughts on the Revolt Advanced Pro just after wrapping up five days racing at the notoriously difficult 2024 Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder. "The Giant Revolt is one of my favorite gravel bikes because it does a lot of things very well," he said. "It’s a nice goldilocks mix with geometry and price options. I love the seatpost, it’s a humble thing, it’s an important thing. It’s got a good amount of flex, and for riding across the interminable amount of washboard roads [at the Oregon Trail Gravel Grinder], it’s very much appreciated.”

In a test looking at the year's best gravel bikes, the Belgian publication Grinta! gave top honors to the Revolt Advanced Pro 0 model, praising it for its "ultralight weight" and "sublime comfort." Editors wrote: "The Revolt Advanced Pro effortlessly convinced everyone on the panel. Not only does it look breathtaking with its metallic light purple color, it is also a real stunner on and off-road."

Perhaps Rossiter summed it up best when he wrote, "The Revolt Advanced 0 is one of the best fast gravel bikes to date. It rides light, with plenty of composure when things get technical. The specification is premium, but the pricing is competitive. As a versatile all-roader, it has the chops to cut it there too... If you’re looking for a bike that’s fast, forgiving, fun and versatile, the Revolt Advanced has it all."
