Allysa Seely wins her fifth world title at the World Triathlon Para Championships in Spain, dominating the Women’s PTS2 category and capping off a successful year, after a Bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.

On October 18th, Allysa Seely secured her fifth world title at the World Triathlon Para Championships in Torremolinos, Spain. Competing in the Women’s PTS2 category, the Liv Racing Collective athlete finished in first place with a time of 01:19:23, riding the bike portion on a prototype next-generation Avow. The course presented a variety of challenges, including tight corners and speed bumps on the bike segment, along with variable swim conditions due to strong winds. Despite these obstacles, Seely maintained a steady pace throughout the race, finishing nearly six minutes ahead of the second-place competitor.

"My top goal was to have a bike segment I could be proud of," Seely shared. "This year has been a bit inconsistent for me in that part of the race, and I wanted to show what I was really capable of. I focused on power and taking the fastest lines at speed. I missed the fastest bike split by just four seconds, but I was proud of the power I pushed and the way I handled the technical course. My Avow performed beautifully, handling the tight corners and speed bumps with ease." Seely also found some lighthearted moments during the competition. "One of the most memorable parts of the race was when a big ol' fish swam along with me for about 100 meters during the swim. It made me smile amid the chaos," she said.

This victory in Spain caps off an already successful year for Seely, who also claimed a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. Reflecting on the season, she said, "It’s been a pretty fun year, and I’m really glad to finish it on top. The past two years have brought more challenges than I would have liked, but I’m proud of how I’ve handled myself and for never giving up."
