Flow Mountain Bike posted a long-term review of the Stance 29 mountain bike, testing the full-suspension trail bike over several months on varied terrain. News and Tech Editor Will Barrett also included a video with his analysis of a 2020 Stance 29 2 model, which he claimed “ticks a lot of boxes for an entry-level full-suspension bike.”

In his review, Barrett detailed some of key technologies in the Stance 29, including its lightweight ALUXX frameset and FlexPoint suspension system with a SR Suntour Raidon R rear shock (120mm travel) and a SR Suntour Raidon 34 suspension fork (130mm travel) on his test bike.

“The suspension is also mighty smooth,” Barrett wrote. “Despite the entry-level designation, both the Suntour fork and shock are nice and supple, delivering a surprisingly floaty ride quality over rough terrain.”

As for its performance on the trail, Barrett found the Stance 29 to be a welcoming ride to those who may be new to riding singletrack terrain. “The first thing that struck me about riding the Stance 29 is just how comfortable it is,” he wrote. “Out of the box, it delivers a taller and more recreational riding position compared to more hardcore trail bikes.”

Summing it up, Barrett wrote: “The Giant Stance 29 ticks a lot of boxes for an entry-level full suspension bike. It’s a great package for the money, with quality disc brakes, tubeless compatible wheels and low-range 1×12 gearing. And being a bike that you purchase through a Giant dealership, it also comes with backup service and warranty support that can be particularly important for those who are investing in their first full suspension bike.”
