Giant is introducing the latest addition to its range of Trance trail bikes, the new Trance X. Built for those who favor the responsive, agile handling of 27.5-inch wheels, it’s designed to excel on technical trails, helping riders float through rock gardens, soar over jumps, and dial up the fun factor on every ride.

The heart of this new trail ripper is its ALUXX SL aluminum frame—a lightweight, super strong chassis that’s tuned for riding aggressive singletrack terrain. Made with 6061 alloy that provides a best-in-class stiffness-to-weight ratio, the frameset delivers smooth control without compromising its responsive ride quality. It features a proven Maestro rear suspension system with 145mm of rear wheel travel matched with a 160mm fork up front. An Advanced Forged Composite upper rocker arm reduces overall frame weight while boosting stiffness.

One of the breakthrough innovations on the Trance X is a new adjustable frame geometry feature. A flip chip on the rocker arm of the Maestro suspension system lets riders choose a steeper or slacker head and seat tube angle depending on their riding style and terrain.

You can change the head angle from 63.8 to 64.5 degrees (size medium). The seat tube angle adjusts from 76.3 to 77.0 degrees (size medium). Switching the geometry also changes the bottom bracket drop from 20mm in the high setting to 30mm in the low setting. The low setting gives you slacker geometry that's better suited to faster, more open terrain. The high setting offers steeper geometry and is recommended for tight, technical trails.

In both settings, the frame geometry of the Trance X is made to optimize the agility of its 27.5-inch wheels. Short chainstays (430mm rear/center measurement) give it a compact rear end that helps make it an ultra-responsive trail machine. This geometry encourages riders to show off their style, whether they’re flicking jumps at the bike park or making quick line changes on technical descents.

Boost hub spacing improves lateral wheel stiffness, and the frameset has plenty of clearance for larger, high-volume tires up to 2.6 inches. In addition, every Trance X model comes with a Giant tubeless WheelSystem and tires set up right out of the box.
