Jenn Jackson earns her third national title by winning the Canadian Cross-Country Marathon (XCM) Mountain Bike National Championships, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Jenn Jackson of Liv Factory Racing continues to solidify her dominance in the Canadian mountain biking scene, adding another national title to her growing list of accomplishments. Jackson took the win at the Canadian Cross-Country Marathon (XCM) Mountain Bike National Championships, earning the prestigious title of National Champion and the privilege to wear the maple leaf jersey in the XCM discipline.

After winning the national titles in Cross-Country Circuit (XCC) and Cross-Country Olympic (XCO) earlier this year, this latest victory marks a major milestone in Jackson's 2024 season, as she holds three national titles in the same year. Jackson’s hat trick of victories makes her the most decorated Canadian XC Elite Women's Champion in 2024.

"A career highlight to win all three titles this year! This was one of my big result goals for the season, and with it part of the process and progress towards building myself up to feel like I belong as one of the best mountain bikers in the country. One day, one race at a time, working on the fitness, the skills, the confidence, and headspace to show up every day. Taking on a new challenge with the marathon was a great experience and I learned a lot (as you do riding around for nearly 5 hours) and am excited to look at next year's calendar for some more long-distance opportunities." Jackson stated after the race.

Taking place in Thunder Bay, Ontario, the XCM National Championship race consisted of an epic 90km total, with three laps of a 30km course and 450m of climbing per lap. Tackling a mix of fast green and blue trails, technical black singletrack with rocks and roots, steep climbs, and fast descents, offering diverse and challenging terrain, Jackson won the event on her Pique Advanced Pro 29.

"Such a wholesome week and event - the people in Thunder Bay are amazing, so many remember me from when I was on the ski team here and are so excited and supportive of what I’ve moved on to do on the bike, and just genuinely happy that I could be here for Nationals.

This was my first marathon race in several years, so I was pretty nervous about the unknown in racing for nearly five hours - how my body would hold up, if my fueling strategy would be sufficient, and if my tactics would pay off against the more experienced competition. In the end, it all went remarkably well, and the effort as a whole was less brutal than I expected. It was so different than racing XCC or XCO, but I enjoyed the new challenge and am so excited to hold titles in all three disciplines now."

Jackson plans to take some well-deserved rest before heading back to UCI Cross-Country World Cup racing in Lake Placid, USA, and Mont-Sainte-Anne.
