Lisa Tertsch crossed the finish line with an impressive sprint finish at the Europe Triathlon Cup in Quarteira, Portugal.

Liv Racing Collective athlete Lisa Tertsch took home an impressive win at the Europe Triathlon Cup, in Quarteira, Portugal aboard her EnviLiv Advanced Pro. The first race of the 2024 season brought all the action, with Tertsch finishing the Olympic distance race in 1:58:52 in the Elite Women's field.

After a busy off-season Tertsch was eager to return to the race circuit, "I was a bit nervous, but also excited for the race season to finally start after so many months of preparation," she added "I just did my normal taper week and worked on some specific skills that I thought would be important for this race."

The race consisted of a 1.5km (0.93 mile) swim, a 40km (25 mile) cycle, and a 10km (6.2 mile) run, Tertsch remained out in front throughout the race, during the run portion she paired off with two other competitors including last year's winner Cassandre Beaugrand. In the final stretch, Tertsch timed her acceleration perfectly, seemingly taking the other competitors by surprise, sprinting out in front, and keeping the pace until the end for a dramatic solo finish. "For me, this race was about testing how well my winter training went and for me the test was successful. I won my race and I am very happy with my performance," she reported after the race. "The most memorable part was making my move about 600m before the finish line and seeing that no one could follow!"

Tertsch now prepares for the World Triathlon Championship Series in Yokohama, Japan in May. Stay tuned for more Liv racing action.
