Liv Racing Xstra concluded their Spanish racing campaign Sunday with the four-day stage race Vuelta a Burgos Feminas. The team was also present at the Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic, a one-day race in the Netherlands on Friday. Between the two races, Liv Racing Xstra scored two podium finishes – Tereza Neumanova rode to second on the first stage of Vuelta a Burgos and Rachele Barbieri sprinted to third in Veenendaal-Veenendaal.

Kicking off the weekend’s racing on Thursday with stage one of the Vuelta a Burgos Feminas, Liv Racing Xstra was down one rider due to illness. Still, the team rode a smart race in the mostly flat stage from Pedrosa del Principe to Aranda de Duero. The stage ended in a sprint from a group of 60 riders, where Neumanova powered to second behind Lotte Kopecky on her Langma Advanced SL Disc.

“The echelons made it hard in the final, but with help from the team I stayed in a good position,” said Neumanova. “I tried to save as much energy as possible for the uphill sprint. I had the power to do a really strong sprint and finish on the podium. I think I was happier than the stage winner. It feels really great to be here after the health issues I had since the beginning of the season.”

Liv Racing Xstra, as well as Liv-sponsored Team BikeExchange-Jayco both animated the front of the peloton for the remaining stages of Vuelta a Burgos. Neumanova continued to ride well into the second stage, finishing just outside the top-10. Ane Santesteban of Team BikeExchange-Jayco was consistently near the front, finishing ninth in the general classification.

In the Netherlands, it was Barbieri of Liv Racing Xstra once again sprinting to a podium finish from a very strong bunch at Veenendaal-Veenendaal. After two riders got away, Barbieri won the sprint ahead of the rest of the peloton, including Marianne Vos.

Both Liv Racing Xstra and Team BikeExchange-Jayco are now preparing for the RideLondon Classique, a three-day stage race which kicks off Friday.
