Liv Factory Racing athlete Ronja Blöchlinger captures a bronze medal in the U23 XCO at the UCI MTB World Championships in Glentress Forest, Scotland.
Ronja Blöchlinger secures a spot on the podium at the UCI XC World Championships in Scotland, clinching the bronze medal in the U23 Cross-country Olympic (XCO). This marks a momentous achievement for the Liv Factory Racing athlete as she claims her very first individual World Champion medal in addition to winning gold with the Switzerland Team earlier in the week, in the XC Mixed Team Relay.
During the first of six laps on the 3.5km course, Blöchlinger positioned herself strongly as one of the top contenders from the beginning, racing on her Pique Advanced Pro she finished with a time of 1:17:53, coming in third behind fellow Swiss rider Ginia Caluori and the winner Sammie Maxwell.
Reflecting on her performance, Blöchlinger shared, “I really loved the course and was feeling great ahead of my XCO race. Nearing the end of the race, I began to struggle with some cramps." Of course, I wanted to win, but it’s hard to be disappointed with a medal. I'm happy to have my first World Championship medal with the support of Suisse Cycling and Liv Factory Racing!”
