Tessa Neefjes powers through "epic" conditions to win the Netherlands Beachrace series and her Dutch National Championship title.

Liv Racing Collective athlete, Tessa Neefjes has reclaimed her Dutch National Championship title with a victory in the latest Netherlands Beachrace series. The race, held on December 21st on the windswept shores of Katwijk, spanned 50 kilometers over three grueling laps of a 17-kilometer course. The race ended with a fierce sprint finish against a full headwind, with Neefjes powering to victory on her Devote Advanced Pro.

Reflecting on her preparation, Neefjes credited her recent training. “I had a good training camp in Tenerife before the nationals - there was also a lot of wind, so it was very good preparation. And when I was back home, I trained daily on my Liv Devote on the beach to get a good feeling for the technical beach sections,” she shared.

The conditions in Katwijk lived up to the event's reputation for demanding races. Neefjes described the experience as “epic,” noting, “The Dutch Championships on the beach are always under tough conditions. It was epic, stormy wind, heavy rain, and windblown sand. We were riding full gas with the headwind and only riding 16kph with a backwind of almost 60kph!”

With this victory, Neefjes will proudly continue to wear the national jersey as she heads to the GP Groot Egmond-Pier-Egmond, the largest event in the world of beach racing, on January 11th, 2025.
