FLOW MOUNTAIN BIKE CALLS NEW TRANCE X 29 A “VERY HOT COMPETITOR”

Flow Mountain Bike posted a first ride review of the new Trance X 29, calling it “big-trail and big-speed ready” and giving it high marks for its “new-school geometry” and “supportive suspension.”

Wil Barrett, News and Tech Editor for Flow Mountain Bike, detailed the new features and technologies in this all-new, longer-travel addition to the Trance family, and wrote about his initial experiences riding the Trance X 29.

“This isn’t just the most contemporary Trance we’ve ever seen from Giant, there are no doubts it’s the most exciting too,” Barrett wrote.

In addition to its “properly progressive geometry,” the other key feature that caught Barrett’s eye is a new flip chip to adjust that geometry between two positions:

“This is new for Giant, and it’s very much a welcome addition for the trail rider that wants to tune the handling according to their trails and riding style. The geometry flip-chip is discreetly located in the rearward pivot of the rocker link, which you can access via a 5mm hex key. You’ll have to do both sides, but in my experience it’s a quick and easy adjustment to make on the side of the trail.”
