Ingvild Gåskjenn of Liv AlUla Jayco surprises at the Amstel Gold Race with a third-place finish, securing her first WorldTour podium.

Liv AlUla Jayco team member Ingvild Gåskjenn surprised many by clinching third place in the Amstel Gold Race, marking her first WorldTour podium finish. Aboard her team EnviLiv Advanced SL, the Norwegian rider's impressive sprint saw her finish behind Dutch cyclists Marianne Vos and Lorena Wiebes.

Gåskjenn, who had been supporting her teammates until the final moments of the race, found herself in an ideal position during the chaotic sprint to the finish line. Seizing an opportunity with an opening, she powered to the finish, crossing the line in third place with a look of disbelief as she achieved the biggest result of her career.

Reflecting on her success, she remarked, "I don’t have words; it was really not the plan to go for me - I just went full gas; I had super legs, and I found myself on Wiebes’ wheel and I was just like I feel good, I am here, I will go for it and wow yeah, it’s third place."

The race faced an early disruption due to an incident on the road, leading to a one-hour delay after 45 kilometers. Despite this setback, the peloton resumed for three laps and a shortened distance of 101 kilometers. Similar to the events that unfolded at the Dwars door Vlaanderen in Belgium last month where teammate Letizia Paternoster also secured a third-place finish.

Stay tuned for more Liv Racing action!
