The Liv Racing enduro squad kicked off the 2021 Enduro World Series season with a bang in Canazei, Trentino, Italy. This year, Leonie Picton (Liv Racing Collective) moved into the masters category and brought her A-game for her debut, taking home two wins in back-to-back EWS rounds this week.

Round one got underway on Wednesday with four stages and a total of 32 km of riding. With ideal conditions, Leonie Picton went to work. She posted the fastest time on every stage and finished the day over a minute and a half ahead of second place to score her first win in the EWS women masters category. In the elite women’s field, Rae Morrison (Liv Racing Collective) finished 10th and Isabella Naughton (Liv Factory Racing) was 33rd.

The second race of the week started Friday evening with the pro stage. Though the athletes raced the same stage one as they did on Wednesday, the track had changed. After hundreds of racers practicing and racing on the course, it had developed large holes that were waiting to grab onto wheels. The weather also played a factor. As racing got underway, the rain came down resulting in extremely slippery and muddy conditions. On Saturday, athletes raced the remaining three stages. Luckily, the rain had subsided, but conditions were still slick and challenging, which meant slower times on the same stages raced just three days prior. Picton still came out on top, again winning every stage and finishing with a winning margin of 45 seconds. Morrison and Naughton both moved up in the ranks, finishing 9th and 27th, respectively.

Stay tuned for a look behind the scenes with the Liv Racing crew later this week on our Enduro Racing Guide
