Giant Factory Off-Road Team riders Antoine Philipp and Reto Indergand continued their successful early-season run of cross-country races in Alanya, Turkey, scoring wins and podium finishes for the second weekend in a row.

Philipp, the 2019 French Under-23 XC champion, scored his first victory of 2021, winning the final of three races comprising the Velo Alanya MTB Cup on his Anthem Advanced Pro 29 team bike. “It was really cool to be back racing in Turkey again,” said the 23-year-old. “We’re here for training and racing for valuable UCI points, but the courses are also quite fun to ride.”

Philipp also finished third and second respectively at the first two races, making it three-for-three for podium appearances. “We raced three times this weekend, and day after day my form was better, and my results followed,” he said. “It gives me the right rhythm and drive for the start of the World Cup season in a couple months.”

Swiss rider Indergand was also at the front of the action in Alanya, scoring two second-place finishes and a third-place on the steep, rocky terrain in Turkey. Both Philipp and Indergand wore their Giant Rev Pro helmets and Charge Pro shoes for all three races.

“I had a tough start from the third row, but the effort was worth it each day,” Indergand said. “And it was nice seeing Antoine pull away for the win on Sunday, then finish right behind him in second. Over two weekends of racing here, we both finished on the podium at every race, which has been great for UCI points and confidence.”
