Liv Racing Collective athlete Sandra Walter scored a win over the weekend at the Canada Cup XCO series in Whistler, BC, Canada.
As Walter prepares for the next big block of World Cup racing beginning next week, she took the opportunity to participate in a round of the Canadian national series near her home in British Colombia.
Taking place on one of the first hot days of the year, athletes not only had to contend with the challenging course, but also the extreme conditions. The course consisted of 4.5km and 222m of elevation gain per lap, with the elite women completing five laps. Walter started strong and extended her lead with each lap, finishing four and a half minutes ahead of the competition.
“My favourite part of the event was connecting with friends and local racers,” said Walter. “I had awesome cheering squads all over the course.”
