Liv Factory Racing athlete Sarah Hill scored the victory at SA XCO Cup #5 in Bloemfontein, South Africa over the weekend.

The UCI C1 race in Bloemfontein was the fifth and final race on the 2021 South African national XCO race calendar and consisted of five 4.5km laps in dry, dusty and rocky conditions. Sarah Hill of Liv Factory Racing shifted her training focus over the past couple of weeks to focus on strength and sprinting, and her hard work has paid off. Hill was patient, settling into her pace early on to stay in control of her heart rate and the race. By the second climb of the first lap, Hill had gained on the race leaders and took control for the remaining four laps. She crossed the finish line first aboard her Pique Advanced Pro 29, nearly two minutes ahead of her nearest competitor.

“It has been a very untraditional year of training and I often don't know what part of the season I am in,” said Hill. “I felt like I tapered perfectly for this race, and I had the legs and the strategy to ride myself into first place. Everything came together for me today!”

Next up, Hill will line up for South African XCO National Championships on July 10th.
